It'll be odd driving down by the river and not seeing that bridge any more, even though it's been closed for quite a while. Festival of Mystery

My husband and I went to the Festival of Mystery held by the Mystery Lovers Bookshop in Oakmont, PA, on Monday. It took us about an hour and a half to get there, but we did hit some rush-hour traffic. I had a great time, and my husband didn't complain at all. You have to love him. Books are not his thing and the Penguins played that night, but he knew I was looking forward to it. There were at least 40 authors there, signing books and doing short interviews. The place was packed. I got to meet a bunch of the authors, all of whom were friendly and nice. Some I had never heard of, some I've read everything by. The picture on the left is me with Leann Sweeney. Pittsburgh International Children’s Festival

I don't know if anyone out there is local, but the Pittsburgh International Children's Festival is being held May 13-17. The reason I mention it is one of the performances is based on a story I remember from my childhood and that I read to Amber when she was little, Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, pictures by Clement Hurd. Two of Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd’s beloved bedtime classics, Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny come to life on stage with whimsical puppetry and evocative music.
