I had trouble deciding what to post, so I almost just skipped this week. I have received lots of fabulous gifts from wonderful people. Books and clothes, jewelry, gadgets, electronics, trips and gift cards, homemade gifts and tickets. Right this minute, everything I'm wearing was a gift from someone, except my glasses (and underwear and makeup). The outfit was an early birthday present from my mom and she gave me my boots last year. David gave me my rings and watch, and the shawl was  a gift from my in-laws years ago. I'm on Facebook, both my personal account and a page for my blog. I'm also on Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter, all 3 of which are a combo of personal stuff and blog stuff. It's hard to pick a favorite. I enjoy Facebook for seeing what friends are up to. I also share events I want to go to on there with my husband and mom, so I don't forget to tell them. I'm not sure that I'd really want to go shopping with any of them, for fear of being the secondary character who ends up dead or in jail. Also, most of them are not really into shopping. They're more likely to work in a bookstore than shop in one, to interrogate the store owner instead of trying on dresses. Instead, I'm going with where I would like to shop. Okay, I'm skipping the obvious ones - New York, Paris, etc. and going with a purely fictional town, Three Pines from Louise Penny's Gamache series. Chances are they're going to change it, or pick the wrong actors, or cut out bits I love. Once in a while, the movie is better, The Shining and Casino Royale jump to mind, but in general that's not the case. While the Fox and O'Hare series are not on my list of favorite books, they are enjoyable and I think would make good movies. The world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive. For more info: My Favorite Meme. Fall always make me a little sad. I miss the warm temperatures and sun of summer. There are definitely things I like about fall, though, aside from the fact that both our anniversary and my birthday are in the fall. I love warm sweaters and boots. I like to cuddle up on the couch under a blanket. I love hot drinks - coffee, apple cider, hot chocolate; and fall foods - apple dumplings, pumpkin pie.
