Fitness Tuesday

Here's my plan, more or less. (SS stands for strength training/stretching; CT stands for cross-training) Since last check-in, I finished Week 6 and am starting Week 7. I switched Wednesday and Tuesday of this week. On Tuesday, I did the elliptical for 60 minutes. Wednesday morning I took the dog on a mile walk and in the evening I did some dumbbell exercises and ab work equaling 30 minutes. Thursday I ran 2 miles at a pace of 11:36 min/mile. And I ate good. I pulled back out my Lean Mom, Fit Family plan, which I guess I've never actually posted about. It's a great book about eating right and exercising. I actually like it for the meal plans - they're really doable. And it's helped me before when I wanted to lose weight. Fitness Tuesday

Here's my plan, more or less. Since last check-in, I finished Week 5 and am starting Week 6. Tuesday, David and I lifted weights at home for half an hour, focusing on arms. Wednesday I did the 60 minutes on a recumbent bike, mostly because I can read on my Kindle when I do it. I have to have my priorities, right? Thursday I ran 2 miles on Main St while hoping it wouldn't rain. My average pace was 10:33 min/mile. Saturday I ran the 4.5 miles on Main St in the evening. It was getting a little dark while I was finishing up, but we have decent streetlights. Well, there's one darkish area, but it doesn't last long and it's on a residential road, so not too much traffic. After I got back I tested the SOS function on my watch. Fitness Tuesday

Here's my plan, more or less. Since last check-in, I finished Week 4 and am starting Week 5. I had to switch Tuesday and Wednesday because we went to my Mom's for dinner on Wednesday and to do a little yard work, so I didn't think I'd want to head out to the gym after that. On Tuesday I did 1 hr 5 mins on the elliptical, going between 4 and 5 miles, I don't remember the exact number. Wednesday I did some weight-lifting at home with David. We did dead-lifts, curls, squats, a couple of other things and a few crunches. Thursday was a nice evening so I ran 2 miles at the local park. My pace was 10:42 min/mile. Fitness Tuesday

Here's my plan, more or less. Since last check-in, I finished Week 3 and am starting Week 4. Tuesday, I put in a yoga DVD and did that for about 30-40 minutes. It's actually an hour long, but I admit I skipped a harder chunk in the middle - I'm a bit out of practice. I also took the dog for a mile walk, more for his benefit than mine. Wednesday evening I went out to the gym and did an hour on the recumbent bike. I forgot my headphones, but can totally read on my kindle while on the bike, yay! Thursday I had a headache and just didn't feel like running, so I did the elliptical - 2 miles/25 minutes. Then almost fell over when I got off  - I think my sinuses had my head a bit foggy. Fitness Tuesday

Here's my plan, more or less. Since last check-in, I finished Week 2 and am starting Week 3. Tuesday I did 30 minutes of Yoga and took the dog for a mile walk. Wow, the yoga made my inner-thighs sore. It's been a while since I've done it. Wednesday I was supposed to do 30 minutes of cross-training, but I must have read  the plan wrong before I went to the gym. I ended up doing 60 easy minutes on the elliptical on the "hills" setting. Thursday I ran 2.3 miles and took the dog for a mile walk. We also went fishing, but the only exercise to that is walking up the hill from the parking lot and down the trail to the lake. Saturday I ran in the Debbie Green 5K in Wheeling. My time was 32:41, 19 out of 36 in my class. You can tell I forgot to "finish" my workout on my watch right at the finish line. Not a great time...

Fitness Tuesday

Here's my plan, more or less. Since last check-in, I finished Week 1 and am starting Week 2. I switched Tuesday and Wednesday. I went swimming on Tuesday for about half an hour. Wednesday I went out to the gym and did some of the weight machines, concentrating on my legs. Thursday I ran the 2 miles. Saturday I ran 2 miles, give or take. I was running on the sidewalk on Main Street and a guy on a Segway pulled out of one of the parking lots right in front of me. he was taking up the whole sidewalk and was going just the wrong speed, too fast to pass easily and get comfortably in front of, and too slow for him to get some distance between us. I ended up turning around an taking another route, but my watch wasn't charged, so I can't actually say for sure how far I went, but based on my usual route, I'm guessing...
